Premium action with comedy-horror themes
Dashie's Puh-ranormal Activity is a paid adventure game from Jason Morgan. This survival horror game combines horror and comedy that lets you play as Dashie himself, the Dominican-American YouTube content creator known for gaming and comedy skits. With his signature beanie and headset, you must escape from monsters based on the many characters he has portrayed.
With a lot of niche references to internet culture, Dashie's Puh-ranormal Activity is a fun experience for fans as well as for those looking for a casual horror experience. It’s similar to The Asylum Incident or Mr.Ballen - The Dislike of the Like Button.
Save Dashie from the ghosts of his past
The titular character in Dashie's Puh-ranormal Activity is known for making a variety of online content, from comedy skits to video game commentary. Also known as DashieGames or DashieXP, the vlogger has amassed almost 10 million subscribers on YouTube alone. His works serve as the in-game Easter eggs in this short indie. It includes the Dashie plushie, which takes on a cute yet murderous form in this game.
As a game, it starts out with a polished set design. Most character models, such as the plushie, are in a slightly different texture that makes it modded into the game, adding hilarity to the experience. Also, as a nod to the nature of Dashie’s content, expect the use of mature language, a lot of jumpscares, and some gore-filled killing animations.
On the jumpscares, though, there’s no randomization that makes it predictable after the first try. The plushie makes the game challenging because of its small stature, making it easy to miss despite the sudden chipmunk shrieks calling you out. Also, it has a decent playthrough of three levels, with five more slated to come through subsequent releases. Lastly, as mentioned, most references are easy to miss for non-fans.
A fun treat for the community
It’s becoming common for iconic online celebrities to have games created in tribute to them, and Dashie's Puh-ranormal Activity is one of the better-made ones. Its three levels offer enough playthroughs across them, making it worth the price. It’s better appreciated by Dashie fans, but it also works as a parody survival horror for the rest. Aside from the specific references and the mature content, it’s a good game.
